The problem isn’t a lack of talent. It’s a lack of access.

Women & gender nonconforming producers bring immense creativity & skill to music, yet access to studios, mentorship, & clear career pathways remain drastically uneven. Imagine all the great art we’re missing out on by not having equal voices respresented in the creation process.

Derby’s goal is to expand equity in music production by supporting women & gender nonconforming producers through free studio residencies, educational opportunities from established producers, & community-driven programs that remove barriers & build sustainable, long-lasting creative careers.
